Bio

Thaddeus was born at Dyess Air Force Base in March of 1980.  Growing up he didn't move around but that was OK with him because he loves being able to say he has known his best friend since the 3rd grade.  Now some people would say that makes for a terribly boring childhood but Abilene was plenty big enough for him then.

As he grew up though, he felt the urge to expand his world view.  So, he made sure to take plenty of trips such as; Spring Break Campaigns, Mission Trips, Youth Camps and family trips either to see relatives or to go skiing about every other year.  During his Senior year in High School he became much more social and being involved in everything he had time for.  Thaddeus was then inducted into an exclusive new club at Abilene High School called "Poltroon".  Poltroon is governed by a triumvirate (which is a group of people governed or ruled by 3 people).

After high school, he attended Abilene Christian University (ACU).  At ACU he was involved in many activities, some of which were: Freshman Action Council, Campus Activity Team, ACU Flying Cats (Gymnastics Team), ACU Swing Cats (founding memeber), The Collegiate Orchestra, Pi Kappa (Social Club), along with many Architectural class projects.  Following graduation in Dec' 03 he went straight into the architecture career field.  Thaddeus has also had the opportunity to work in many different career fields such as, landscaping, construction, custom cabinet design, and more recently teaching.  I am now been teaching for 13 years and the last 3 teaching a CTE campus that focuses on preparing young adults for careers. Currently, I am teaching graphic design at the Bill R. Johnsone CTE Center.

I recently started a master's degree in Applied Digital Learning at Lamar University. I am learning how to effectively incorporate Choice, A sense of Ownership, student Voice, and provide Authentic learning environments (COVA) to make sure we are not just giving students technology but designing lesson that utilize the technology that allows more student passion and "buy in". This program stresses the impact of all students, even adults, can benefit from an ePortfolio. Through the use of COVA and using ePortfolios I can greatly increase the effectiveness of my teaching.
