Collaboration at it's finest Blog #5

This week I was able to critique many student’s ePortfolios and the consistent thing that I saw that many other ePortfolios had a search bar on the header.  It dawned on me that many people don’t want to click on a buch of links to try and navigate to what they want to see.  In the age of “Googleing” everything we want to know about a search for having a search bar on my website seemed like a feature that want to take advantage of in my ePortfolio. “The goal of all site owners should be to enable the customers to find the information they need - when they need it.” (Sajn, 2024) In this blog post from Omnisearch it is explained how site search is an effective tool for a good user experience.

It was also beneficial to have other students check my ePortfolio for spelling error and broken links that I immediately fixed.  Personally, when I come across a website that has spelling errors or broken links I immediately question the validity of the website and its author.  Spending the time to develop my ePortfolio will only increase the effectiveness of my ePortfolio.
